SIA Door Supervisor

The Door Supervisor training allows an individual to work in the security industry as both a door supervisor and as a security guard. It is one of the most popular security training courses available. The SIA Door Supervisor licence allows an individual to work in all the premises that a security guard can work and many more premises that the security guard cannot work , for example, hotels etc

Upskilling Door Supervisors

If your existing Door Supervision certificate was attained prior to July 2010, you will need to take this top-up unit in order to re-apply for your License.

If you re-apply without this qualification the SIA will send you a Security Guarding licence.

Who should attend?

Door Supervisors who undertook their qualification prior to the QCF Door Supervision qualifications (July 2010) and who need to renew their licence.

Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry

    • Understand physical interventions and the legal and professional implications of their use
    • Understand how to reduce the risk of harm when physical intervention skills are used
    • Be able to use non-pain related physical skills to protect yourself and others from assault
    • Be able to use non-pain related standing holding and escorting techniques, including non-restrictive and restrictive skills
    • Understand good practice to follow after physical interventions

Assessment

A practical test and a multiple choice exam.

Certification

Successful candidates will receive a Level 2 Award in Upskilling Door Supervisors.

SIA-Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) Training

The SIA qualification for the CCTV PSS training is designed at Level Two.  This means that this entry level qualification is for anyone aspiring to work in the private security industry as a CCTV PSS (public space surveillance) operative. The qualification would enable any learner to apply for an SIA licence for CCTV. In order to get the CCTV licence, a candidate is required to undergo appropriate training with an approved training provider.
