Tests for UK Visas, British Citizenship, Leave to Remain

Trinity provides Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) across the UK.

These tests are approved for applications to UKVI for visas, British Citizenship and Leave to Remain:

  • Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) – A1, A2 and B1 tests.
  • Integrated Skills in English (ISE) – B1, B2 and C1 tests.

B1 for Indefinite Leave to Remain or British Citizenship Course

Preparation course for the B1 Secure English Language Test (SELT) – GESE Grade 5 Who is this course for? Anyone applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK or British Citizenship must pass a Secure English Language Test at GESE (Graded Examinations in Spoken English) Grade 5 in Speaking and Listening. This test is equivalent to CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level B1.

A2 Secure English Language Test Course

Preparation course for A2 Secure English Language Test (SELT) – GESE Grade 3 Who is this course for? Anyone applying for Further Leave to Remain (visa extension) must pass a Secure English Language Test at GESE (Graded Examinations in Spoken English) Grade 3 in Speaking and Language. Since 2017, all non-EEA nationals need to pass this test after two and half years in the UK in order to qualify for Further Leave to Remain. GESE Grade 3 is equivalent to CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level A2.

Life in the UK Course

Preparation course for Life in the UK 2019 test Who is this course for? Anyone applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK or British Citizenship must pass the Life in the UK test. The test is a requirement under the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 to demonstrate adequate knowledge of British life and sufficient proficiency in the English language.
